Levi got his season underway March 23rd and 24th in Hickory North Carolina at the historic Hickory Motor Speedway. On the first night of the USAC double header Levi worked his way up to a 10th place finish in the feature from the 18th starting position. The following night Levi qualified a strong 4th quick and looked forward to a great starting position for the feature. Unfortunately rain moved in and the night’s race was cancelled.
On April 11th the USAC National Midgets visited Anderson Speedway. Levi was strong all weekend and posted a 3rd quick lap in qualifying. During the 100 lap feature Levi kept a good pace and with 20 laps to go started picking off cars from his 10th running position. With just 10 laps to go Levi moved into 3rd, but would get tangled with 2 lap cars before the checkered flags would fall. Levi finished in the 7th position.
Next up for Levi is a dirt double header this weekend at Shepps Speedway Friday night and Macon Speedway Saturday night with POWERi.
“I am really looking forward to get going on the dirt for the first time.” Commented Levi, “I feel confident that we can put together two good runs in the CTR/BCI midget. Bryan, Tim, Al and the guys have really been working with me and have given me opportunity to have a good debut.”
This weekend starts a summer long stretch of over 50 races that Levi looks to compete in on both pavement and dirt. Check back regularly for updates on the 2010 season!
