Once again the Bob Darland Memorial at Kokomo Speedway rained out last Sunday, with a re-scheduled date to be announced. Tuesday night also fell victim to rain as the POWRi event in Macon, IL had to be cancelled. The weekend was not a complete loss however.
Friday night Levi enjoyed a solid 13th place finish at Tri-State Speedway in only his 2nd National (dirt) Midget start. Levi started the night with a 19th place qualifying effort and hung around all evening earning valued seat time.
Levi then headed to Marne, MI the very next day to compete with the USAC Regional Midgets. Levi earned a new track record at Berlin Raceway with a time of 15.829, which eclipsed JJ Yeley’s record set in 2003. Unfortunately under halfway through the feature Levi would fall victim to a race ending mechanical problem.
This week bring Levi’s biggest challenge yet with 5 straight nights of racing for Indiana Midget week, which begins Wednesday night at Gas City Speedway and wraps up Sunday at Kokomo Speedway. Check back for news and results all week long!
